Divorcing my stuff!!

Spring is right around the corner! After a long & arduous winter I couldn't be more excited for Spring flowers, bike rides, and afternoons with a good magazine and cup of tea! I was inspired by a
blogger who offered a challenge to downsize your home. Live in more peacefully with less. She enjoyed thrifting and getting a good deal, but live with the best and get rid of the rest. I have downsized my 12 ahem. purses to 3 of my absolute favorites. Thankfully my cousin, carolyn was excited in having something new. I am feeling absolutly free and it has only begun!

I went to joanne fabrics with Grandma also Joanne and Cheryl to find fabric for a chair that needed a new slipcover. My aunt gave me an Ikea Poang chair and the result couldn't be more delightful!

It is amazing what one change can make such a dynamic impact on your day. "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." It's true in so many ways. Think of all the little things you do that add up to something big. Small daily choices become habits that define us, little children grow to become the adults who can change the world. This one is great when you're feeling like all the little things you do aren't important... all those little things have a great impact when you put them all together!

Tonight we are celebrating a special birthday birthday boy!! We will be at Tommy's in Coventry with friends and family! Here is Rick, Tim, and Brett at the Shamrock 15k where brett was amazing. 49th out of 231!!

Our trip to CR was one of my favorite trips with brett! Laughing, Surfing, and great food. Costa Rica has beautiful beaches that allow dogs! The countryside is mountainous and you can see monkeys, snakes and many exotic plants. I feel like I still have hammock marks on my back it was so relaxing! While we were there our chef, Rafa made some wonderful meals all in two pans. The meals included Fish tacos, sushi night and the best sea bass brett has ever tasted!

I borrowed a cast iron pan from my mom to see if I would like a small or large pan. I made Sweet Potato hash with flank steak to create a deelicious burrito! We will have to see what brett thinks!

Today I discovered dried figs from trader joes. They were unexpectedly wonderful. I think I ate about four on our car ride home. Recently we brought a Djembe Drum into our home thanks to Tricia. During my lunch I have cherished the time to let out some of my creativity by making music.

I have a book that I love dearly. I actually bought it as a gift for my mother, but when I moved out I managed to bring it with me. I feel that the gift was all of the recipes that I make and share with her the fruits of my labor. I made a very spicy Ginger Curry Vinaigrette from Once Upon A Tart cookbook. My mother loves indian flavors and happily took a jar of it. My goal is to try every recipe. Once. Twice. Or if it is really good hide it in the freezer!

Maybe make something and share it with someone.

I am reading a book that disusses how to motivate people. Found a part interesting.
A company called "world now" bought a crappy drill that was beat up. They gave it to employees who were risk-takers, participators, thought of a creative idea ect.. Upon getting it they would modify it. Someone added a trigger someone engraved marge simpson on it ect. Way cool. At LHBP we had a similar icon. A very large pair of panties that accomadated three plus people. They were hilarious. At microsoft they used a word called "work judo":the ard of deflecting a assignment to someone else with your making it appear that you're avoiding it.

I am looking forward to expanding my brain this semester. Sweet vacations coming up as well spending time with good friends. A very old friend of mine who gave me the most motivational talk he ever has. I feel all out pummeled in school with the classes I am taking. He gave me a key so I have quiet place to study. He just believes in me. I needed a little academic encouragement.
