The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra!

The Xterra challenge was Sunday, July 20th 2008. I came to not only finish, but to do it with a pretty good time. My goal time for the race was 3 hours and I beat my goal by 21 minutes!! I appreciated all of my friends and family who drove out to Ravenna to support brett, alan and I. I have been training for quite some time and I squeezed all of the power out of me to keep on keepin'. I was 5th/15 out of the water! I passed amy on the bike and a little over a 1/4th of the way through two women passed me, ouch. On the non-lake side I was hoping to catch up to some women and wondered who was ahead of me, but it was a lonely ride. Brett Z. was behind me on the lakeside and sped off on the non-lakeside, but I caught up to him on the run! I kept pushing him on the run and we had a sprint to the finish!! HA

The training was difficult and sometimes and had other things I would rather be
doing, but you can "pay now or pay later". It was a great feeling to be in the best shape of my life..thus far! I will continue to do triathlons and get into mountain bike racing.

First
I need a carbon mountain bike..like this one!

This year, go someplace new and have some fun. Live more.
Whatever it is you have a love for go out and make it happen!

What has jessers been up to?
  • I am insane and taking 6 classes & working 1 day.
  • I have spread my ideas to brett and we are now training for the xterra triathlon.
  • There is something wrong with me; you know it.

A Little background about Xterra

Xterra reminds you it's more fun to run off-road. Hop across rocks, soar across streams, zig-zag your way along a mountain trail. Be a kid again and rediscover your super-charged sense of adventure and wonder. XTERRA hosts Trail Runs at all the championship venues and stand alone races in major cities across the country.

My Race

  • The race will be held at Westbranch State Park on July 20th.

  • 1/2 Mile open water swim, 10 Mile Mountain Bike, 4 Mile Trail Run

I will be trying to update my blog more frequent and I am thinking about putting up my training schedule, but I am not sure how many of you would be interested. If anyone wants to go on a few runs with me; call me!

This year, go someplace new and have some fun. Live more.
